Happy New Years Eve!

I hope that you’ve had a joyful Christmas season since we were together on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.

New Years is an interesting time, since nothing really changes between December 31 and January 1, it’s just another day.

But, Christians redefine this time of year as a declaration of faith that God came into past as Jesus Christ the child, and has renewed the future, your future, as our saviour resurrected.

As Steve Bell has written, our past guilt is replaced with faith in God’s redeeming action, and fear of the unknown future is replaced with hope because of the resurrection.

This New Year make the declaration that you will follow Jesus and trust his path because you believe him when he says, “I am making all things new!” (Rev 21:5).

An Invitation

If you are available this afternoon you’re invited to join us in the YUM Church basement for New Year’s Eve Games from 3:00-5:00.
Come on out for an informal time of games and potluck snacks for young and old!

Also a reminder about the Church Family Ice Skating On Monday, January 2, 2023 at 2:00 - 3:00 pm at Sardis Sports Complex (formerly Twin rinks).
Come out for an afternoon of skating. You are welcome to invite your friends to join us as well. We will be in Rink 1. Skate rental is $6. The rental booth will be open at 1:40 p.m. so that you can get your skates before the ice time. We will have use of a meeting room (Vedder Room) following the skating time (3:00-4:30) for snacks and beverages. The food committee will provide hot chocolate
