Good morning and Happy New Year! It's Monday, January 2, and although Richmond Public Schools are open today, there will be no mail delivery, no residential trash collection, and most banks are closed today. In preparation for next week's recycling event, here's an update on services provided by the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority:
- The City of Richmond partners with CVWMA for curbside and drop-off recycling, electronics and yard waste recycling, and household hazardous waste collections.
- For curbside recycling in the Museum District:
- Homes are provided with a blue-lidded a 95-gallon recycling cart
- Use the CVWMA web tool:
- to request a new recycling cart,
- to sign up for recycling day email reminders, or
- to look up your exact recycling days.
- Take Christmas trees, electronics, and household hazardous waste to Bring One for the Chipper 2022 on Saturday, January 14, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. (below). Otherwise, formerly live, formerly decorated trees will be picked up with your regular trash on your regular recycling day.
While the MDA continues its search for a new supplier, our West of the Boulevard Historic District house plaques remain unavailable. Watch this space for updates!
