January brings with it new resolutions and NEW SHOWS! We are calling all actors to come out for the classic play: Cheaper by the Dozen, a play about a father, who is one of the great pioneers of industrial efficiency, and his family. He decides, for no apparent reason, to apply his unorthodox methods at work to his giant family. The results are terribly embarrassing, funny and—it must be admitted—extremely effective! The play tackles parent-child relationships, growing up, and the idea of legacy.
Please come out Tuesday, January 10th or Wednesday, January 11th at 6:45pm for auditions. The show will be Thursday-Sunday, March 9th -12th.  The school break in February has been considered when it comes to the rehearsal schedule. We will be looking for 8 children, both boys and girls, ranging from 4th grade to high school seniors, as well as 4 adult males and 3 adult women. Please note, to audition for the children's roles, the actors must already be enrolled in The Workshop. Hope to see you at the auditions.

In 2004, a permanent 30’ by 50’ stage was constructed in Oak Hill Park. In August of that year, “Romeo and Juliet” was presented under the direction of Dr. Stephen Grey-Lewis.. Admission was free and attendees brought picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs for the performance. The Workshop’s first attempt at presenting Shakespeare in the Park was a rousing success. This tradition has continued, with the past year being our 14th season of offering Shakespeare in the Park.

Some past productions include:" Romeo and Juliet"; "Midsummer Night’s Dream"; "Much Ado About Nothing"; "The Tempest";  “The Taming of the Shrew"; "Twelfth Night";  ”A Winter’s Tale"; "The Comedy of Errors”; ”Two Gentlemen of Verona"; "The Complete Workshop of Shakespeare"; and "Macbeth".
