What’s New?

New Admission and Membership fees began on January 1, 2023. This is the first time we have increased our rates since August of 2019. Our expenses have increased dramatically over the past few years making an increase necessary. We're also adding a new membership option for Museums for All-EBT cardholders. This membership level will be for families who participate in EBT, CHIP, Provider One, WIC, or are foster families. You can learn more about memberships on our website.

Our friends from the Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group are bringing a new batch of salmon eggs on Wednesday, January 11, between 1pm and 3pm! It’s always exciting to watch the eggs hatch and grow, and then to participate in their release!

Do you have something to celebrate?! Why not plan a family-friendly event at CMSC? From birthdays to family reunions to corporate events, your guests are sure to have fun! We have some amazing theme ideas to choose from too! You can find a full list of party themes that we offer on the Celebrations page of our website. Community Access Day

Community Access Day, formerly known as Community Free Day, is back! Providing access for everyone to the Children’s Museum has always been a priority. CAD will continue to be held on the second Tuesday of the month, and the museum will be open from 10 am-5 pm. Admission will be “pay as you can”, which includes no charge, in order to reduce barriers for children and families. January 10th’s CAD is sponsored by the Burlington Lions Club!

Masked Up Monday Mornings is a weekly session that runs from 10am-12pm. Everyone in the museum will be required to wear a mask, to ensure the safety of visitors, and those who are medically fragile. Children under three, who are not able to mask, will not be able to attend this session. These sessions are made possible by generous support from the Nysether Family Foundation and the Skagit Community Foundation.

● Skagit Perinatal Support's From Expecting to The Unexpected is a weekly, drop-in peer support group for the sometimes difficult transition to parenthood! This group addresses the ups and downs of the early parenting journey from pregnancy to postpartum. Meets Tuesdays from 12:30 to 1:30 PM from Sept. 20, 2022 through June 27, 2023 (no meeting Dec. 27, 2022) at the Children's Museum of Skagit County. Learn more here.
● United General Hospital Dist 304's LSPAN program has wonderful monthly newsletters, full of family resources! Check them out here.

● Burlington Healthy Communities Coalition has been bringing together youth and adults for over 30 years to support and promote healthy environments and opportunities for all youth to gain skills and receive positive recognition in order to prevent and reduce youth substance use. ● Need help paying for childcare? The Emergency Child Care Voucher Program, supported by the Opportunity Council, might be able to help.
