NNMCC E-NEWS   |   JANUARY 3, 2023

Hello *|HTML:FNAME|*,

Another year of wonderful memories together. Another year of history in the making.

To all our visitors and guests, we would like to wish you a very Happy New Year. We at the NNMCC are looking forward to continuing to honour, preserve, and share Japanese Canadian history and culture for many more years to come.

Thanks for all your support and dedication thus far. We have many more fun things planned for 2023 (the Year of the Rabbit), so stay tuned!

新年明けましておめでとうございます!

New Year's Calligraphy 書初め

Sat, Jan 7 | 11AM - 3PM | ✨ Free

We invite you to come swing by this Saturday, Jan 7 for New Year's calligraphy. Materials, examples, and guidance provided.

Traditionally, the first calligraphy you write in the new year is called kakizome in Japanese, which literally translates to ‘first writing’. You can write auspicious words associated with the new year, or your own aspirations for the months to come.

Invite your family and friends and experience a Japanese tradition together! Held in conjunction with the Washi 和紙 exhibit.
