THE MIDTOWN CONNECTION
January 5th, 2022

Welcome to the Midtown Community Church newsletter! Here you will find information to connect with the people and ministries at Midtown as we seek to be renewed by Jesus Christ for the purpose of drawing people into community, growing as an authentic worshipping community, and sending them out to renew and create communities locally and globally.

NEW SERMON SERIES

9:15AM  2011 Ridge Road
From our earliest memories of church as children all the way up to our experiences as adults, one of the foundational questions we wrestle with is “What does God want from us?”  Depending on the season we are in or the personal baggage we bring into that question, our answers may vary wildly.  We are told that the Gospel of Luke was written to a man for whom we know very little.  His name is Theophilus, but it literally means “friend of God”.  Luke wrote this letter for the benefit of this man that he may “have certainty concerning the things you have been taught” (Luke 1:4).  Simply put, this letter was written to give us greater certainty that in the person of Jesus, God came to answer that question once and for all.  He wants us to be known as friends of God.  Join us as we explore the person and work of Jesus and discover or rediscover what it means for us to be friends of God.

Worship with us in-person or via livestream on our YouTube Channel. Follow us on Apple Podcast! Search Midtown Community Church and subscribe.

Our Children's Ministry accommodates 9-months through 5th grade during the school year.
Midtown News
We Have A New Assistant Pastor!
We are excited to report that Midtown Community Church has a new Assistant Pastor in Anderson Shore!  Anderson will come on staff at the end of January starting as the "Director of Community Life".  Initially, he will be focusing much of his energy on pursuing ordination in our denomination and getting acclimated to our church community.  We hope you will make every effort to welcome he and Kerri alongside their 3 kids (Molly, Emerson, William).  I would especially like to thank the Search Team who did the majority of the heavy lifting on this search process.  Thank you to Warren Wright, Marissa Wallace, Madison Doss, James Stephens, Tim Dement, and Amy Leme for their work in service to our church family.

Baptisms at Midtown
Midtown reserves the second Sunday of the month for baptisms. If you want to go ahead and schedule your child's baptism, feel free to reach out to Jennifer Boney, Jennifer@midtown-church.org. We look forward to hearing from you!

How Do I Give Financially to the Church?
With a number of new faces at our church, we've had folks ask how they can give to the church. You can either give on Sunday mornings during the offertory, via mail, or the most common option is to give online where you can set up automatic or one-time giving.  For more details, check out our website here: https://midtown-church.org/giving/
