Senior Staff changes at ESCV and Healthwatch East Sussex

Our host organisation East Sussex Community Voice (ESCV) has recruited two new senior staff to help deliver our programmes and projects, including our Healthwatch East Sussex (HWES) services and the wider public engagement activities of the company.

Veronica Kirwan joins ESCV as Executive Director on 20^th February from Peabody, a large housing association based in London. Veronica is excited at the challenge of her new leadership role adding “I am delighted to be joining East Sussex Community Voice. In these challenging times, the voice and needs of the local community have never been so important. I’m really looking forward joining the team and building on the excellent services, knowledge and insight already accumulated.”

Veronica replaces John Routledge who retires from ESCV in March after joining ESCV as Executive Director in July 2017.

On 6^th February Riona Doidge joins ESCV as the new Volunteer and Engagement Manager. Having previously worked at Grassroots Suicide Prevention, Riona says “I am really excited to be joining the team at ESCV, I look forward to making a real difference in our local communities. I am passionate about ensuring local voices are heard and recognised, taking a true co-produced approach to service delivery."

Riona replaces Elizabeth Mackie who retires from ESCV in March after working for the company from when it was founded in 2012.

Chair of the ESCV Board, Keith Stevens, says “I and the other directors are sorry to lose two of our senior staff who have helped achieve so much for ESCV and Healthwatch over the past years but we wish them well in their retirement. I welcome the appointment of two new faces who can refresh the company whilst sustaining the progress made over the past ten years."

Both of our new appointees are greatly looking forward to collaborating with our staff, Board and volunteers, as well as engaging with our statutory, voluntary sector and community partners to ensure the public voice remains at the heart of service delivery in East Sussex.
