Your club must fill out the Banner Google form by March 6th if they want to claim their free banner. It will be undated and can be used year round at service projects, fundraisers, and club events. An example of the banner is attached to this email.

Banner Order Form Due by March 6th: https://forms.gle/ZGsvffYgEKVzZKLe9

*Please disregard the final question about date strips, as this is for the districts who participated last year and a re-using older banners.

Clubs must submit their t-shirt sizes for the free shirts on the form below:

This form is only for the t-shirts being purchased by the District. Additional t-shirts will be available for clubs to purchase directly in sizes Small to 3X. An order link will be provided in the coming weeks.

We are encouraging all participating Rotarians to have a Day of Service shirt, as it will be excellent branding for photos and press. Plus, people notice when everyone is wearing the same thing!
District Rotary Foundation Committee Announcement!
If you were unable to attend the Grant Management Seminar on Saturday February 4, you are still eligible to qualify to participate in The Rotary Foundation Grants for 2023-2024.  Here is how:
  1. Log into Rotary.org and take the Learning Center course - Grant Management Seminar.  This course estimates about 9 hrs, but they are never that long.  This will qualify you and your club to participate for Global Grants ONLY.  You will need to email your certificate of completion and completed Club Qualification Memorandum of Understanding to Steward, Nilima Madan (write2nilima@gmail.com) and Grants Subcommittee Chair PDG jax (jacs214@gmail.com).
  2. TO QUALIFY to participate in District Grants, after completing STEP 1 - you can register for the District Training Assembly on April 1 at the Holiday Inn in Plainview- there will be a breakout session specifically for District Grant qualifications.
After these two steps have been completed your club will be qualified to participate in ALL grants for 2023-2024.  It must be the same person to complete both step 1 & 2 to qualify for District Grants.  If you have any questions, please email District Grants Subcommittee Chair, PDG jax.
Hello Rocking Rotarians,

It’s water and sanitation month for Rotary and just being back from a cruise I can appreciate the importance of water. Surrounded by it and yet we still had to purchase clean water to drink. Imagine how difficult it is for families, communities, and populations not having   access to clean water to drink, never mind bathing and washing. We certainly are fortunate on Long Island.

It’s time for YOUR club to get a Rotary Citation Award. It’s easier than you think. Google Rotary Citation Award and it will take you to the page for qualifications. Basically, you are completing 13 of the 25 suggested goals. At this point your club has probably completed half of them, so maybe only 6 more to go. Why not receive the recognition for the good work you do!

A couple of dates to be aware of for this month-
  • All clubs participating in Day of Service must be registered by Friday, March 3 to  want to receive the banner and 2 T-shirts the District is providing for you. What club wouldn’t want a banner with their name and logo on it AND do service on May 20? Here is the link to register. https://forms.gle/YtFyycUxGfx8vero8
  • HAPPENINGS on ZOOM Monday, March 6 at 7pm, you need to register to attend at https://rotary7255.org/event/zoom-happenings-1/
  • Sophisticated Rotarians like us are off to the theater to see both DGN Beverly James and AG Diane Marman perform in Ragtime on Sunday  March 19. We have special seats and discounts on beverages when wearing the Rotary logo. Limited seating available. https://rotary7255.org/event/ragtime-fundraiser/
  • March 25 -26 is PETS in Whippany, NJ. Make sure your President -Elect is registered. It’s both an education and an experience they do not want to miss.

We have a new email address, rotary7255PI@gmail.com for you to send pictures and news about projects and events your club has done. This way it gets captured in multiple places. The Public Image Committee is working hard to get us recognition and we need your pictures and news to make it happen.

That’s it for now. I’m sure once I send this I’ll think of a few things I forgot to tell you. So come to the Happenings Zoom on Monday, March 6 so I can update you.

Thank you for caring and being a person of action!

Smiles,
Sonia Saleh
