Newsletter January I

Dear readers,

Welcome to the first newsletter of 2023!

Last year was busy and invigorating for sportanddev and the sport for development sector - read about the highlights of 2022. This year promises to be equally exciting, so stay tuned for the latest developments, including an upgraded sportanddev website in multiple languages.

We kick off 2023 by introducing a new podcast series by Erika Mueller Chen called Inspira. She interviews changemakers from sport for development, social impact and the diplomatic service for career advice and stories. We also share a survivor-centred framework that aims to help prevent and respond to abuse in sport.

Also highlighted in this newsletter are a workshop on sport and employability by GIZ’s S4D Learning Lab, an upcoming event on international active cities, an article reviewing the top five articles on the French sportanddev website in 2022, and a research internship opportunity at Mission 89.

Happy reading,
The sportanddev team
