JANUARY 2023 WEEKLY NEWSBYTE

President's Note

Virtuous Cycle  - Sector Growth

Well it has been another extremely busy week in Alberta's Innovation Community - and instead of it being exhausting, it has been exhilarating!

Whether it was the volunteers from the Monthly Entrepreneur Showcase, growing their networks while helping Government Officials find their name tags - or the newly hired graduates from the Jobs programs answering questions to interested candidates - these are moments that put a smile on your face.  Our volunteers range from post-docs in Artificial Intelligence, to 2nd year business students - and in all cases, their enthusiasm is contagious.

On top of that - at a recent Job Fair, where Technology Alberta was promoting the upcoming intake of the FIRST Jobs Program, the companies around me were very familiar - as they were all LOCAL Alberta Companies!  Surrounded by the likes of Drivewyze, Drugbank, Devfacto, Inflexion Games - the students lined up, excited with the prospects these organizations provide.

It really does show how much Alberta's tech sector has grown - and there is more to come,
