OER Releases in Healthcare and Holocaust Studies

This OER was produced as part of the February 2020 TSP Cohort.

The Preview Edition of The Holocaust: Remembrance, Respect, and Resilience is being released on January 27, 2023 on the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. This edition features 14 chapters and a glossary. Keep an eye out for the full edition, with an additional 15+ chapters, being released in April. This resource is the work of a global collaboration of interdisciplinary scholars and teachers. Chapters consider the Holocaust and genocide from many perspectives, including the Arts and Humanities. TSP alumni Michael Polgar, Wade Shumaker, Angela Dick, Brad Antill, Rebecca Walz, Julie Meyer, Sara Davis, and Bryan McGreary teamed up with nearly 50 authors, and 15-20 editors around the world to create this OER.

This OER was produced as part of the February 2020 TSP Cohort.

Interprofessional Education Lab Manual and Workbook was developed to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration for healthcare professional students. Topics covered, activities, and assignments promote self-awareness and collaborative learning. This open laboratory manual was designed by TSP alum Geraldine Terry at Grand Valley State University, with guidance and expertise from Jackie Rander, Melina Zavala, Matt Ruen, and others.

Enroll in the next TSP Cohort!

The Textbook Success Program (TSP) is a professional development package that equips faculty, librarians, administrators, and managers with the tools they need to make, adapt or expand great open textbooks. Participants benefit from a 12-session course and regular check-ins spanning a full year of programming, as well as Rebus resources developed over years of managing the creation of open textbooks. The course is led by program alumni who have successfully managed projects and published OER. As graduates of the TSP, program alumni have first-hand experience about how to leverage the curriculum to set projects up for success. By participating in the intensive 12 week course in Phase 1 and regular check-ins in Phase 2, participants build a strong peer network of OER creators, enthusiasts, and advocates at their institution. In our experience, the community component in these sessions leads to a more fulfilling, sustainable, and efficient OER creation process. Take a look at our FAQ to learn more about the program.

“The Rebus Textbook Success Program provides a great overview of open publishing and a process for working on an achievable project. The cohort model provides formative feedback on the project as well as a space to productively discuss some of the thorny nuances of sharing openly.”
- Stacy Katz, Associate Professor and Open Resources Librarian-STEM Liaison, Lehman College, CUNY (Graduate of the February 2021 Cohort)

If you’re interested in participating, please reach out to us to schedule a consultation. Our next cohort is set to launch in February 2023!
