Do you wish you knew more Crosspointers, but don’t know where to start? Would you like to break out of your regular friendship bubble, but feel weird about walking up to someone and introducing yourself? Do you wish that your potential new friends were randomly assigned to you, and all you have to do is either show up at their home, or cook a meal and wait for them to show up at yours? Well, you’re in luck!
On Saturday, January 28th from 6 PM - 8 PM, Crosspoint will be hosting our first Guess Who’s Coming For Dinner - an exciting event, purposed to provide an opportunity to meet new people and deepen friendships, with an element of surprise. Think of it as a blind date, but for a dinner party with some unexpected new friends.
Anybody can sign up - singles, couples, or a few friends. Those interested will be asked to fill out a form with some basic information, including willingness to be a guest, host, or both, as well as diet preferences and restrictions. Event organizers will match parties of approximately 6-8 people (depending on host capacity), and each party will be equipped with optional conversational ice-breakers. It will be up to the hosts to provide the main dish and the attendees will round out the meal by contributing side dishes, desserts, and drinks.
As this event is aimed at adults, Crosspoint will be providing a free childcare program (Grade 5 and under) at the church from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM on the night of the event. The children will all enjoy dinner and a movie together.
