Hi Church Family,
You are a miracle.
Of course, that is true at the individual level. Every birth is a miracle and, last time I checked, you were all born. However, as we mentioned this past Sunday, it’s also true to say that
the church is a miracle. Jesus said, “where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” That’s a miracle. I was thinking of those 5 individuals who were baptized this past Sunday (what a fantastic time that was!). It’s this reminder that for generations, women and men have been “baptized by One Spirit into one body.” (1 Corinthians 12:13)
This idea that the Holy Spirit has been filling and guiding and building the church across the centuries – generation after generation after generation – is a
miracle. The church is the very
Presence of Christ in our world and in our neighborhood. That’s a miracle! There are reasons to feel down about injustices and wrongs in the world. However, don’t forget that we are called to be the ones who embody the very presence of Jesus to the world. We are the church. And that is a miracle.
We are a Body (and we all play a part!)

Follow along with the Daily Lectionary Readings. This is a great way to connect yourself to the church all around the globe (many followers of Christ use these readings each day). Plus, most Sunday messages each week come from one of the passages on that corresponding Sunday.
