SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11, @2:00 PM     WEST TISBURY AND YOU!
•••    The West Tisbury Library welcomes the community to join in an informal discussion and dialogue about what town government is all about. It’s easy to assume that everything is taken care of and no more input is needed, but in reality West Tisbury depends on the energy, ideas, and time its residents contribute as members of its various boards and committees. How does it actually work? How can you make a difference?

Participants in this discussion will include West Tisbury Administrator Jen Rand, Town Clerk Tara Whiting, town moderator Dan Waters, and others, who will talk about local politics and how to get involved. Come meet neighbors and get information on how to participate in town government and politics.

Refreshments will be served. This program is hosted by the West Tisbury Task Force Against Discrimination. The Task Force was formed in early 2021 in part to recognize and encourage diversity in West Tisbury. Its 2022 survey of town board and committee members found that a large majority of them were over 60 and white – and that many committees were eager for new members. This event is a step toward encouraging more residents to participate in running the town.

Free childcare will be provided during this event in the West Tisbury Library’s Children’s Room.. Please contact the library in advance to sign up for childcare: 508-693-3366 or wt_mail@clamsnet.org
