The Georgia Tech College of Engineering logo with the text "CoE Cares! Wellness, Service, Connections
Colleagues,

After a brief hiatus, it’s my pleasure to share a new CoE Cares newsletter with you. For those who have joined the College during our break, this newsletter is sent to faculty and staff every other month.

Our CoE Cares Committee returns with the same mission they’ve been pursuing for more than a decade: helping us connect with each other across the College and finding ways to make a difference in each other’s lives and communities. CoE Cares is about sharing health and wellness information, encouraging strong relationships with one another, and providing opportunities for all of us to serve and give back.

Well-being and balance are critically important to me and the College’s leadership. Along with diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, they form the cornerstone of the culture we’re building in CoE.

You are our greatest resource — the conduit through which we provide our students world-class education and develop solutions to the world’s toughest challenges. The work of the CoE Cares Committee is an important part of our efforts to support you and build a community where we all thrive.

I hope you enjoy the Black History Month content the CoE community has gathered for you. We’re excited to be back in your inboxes, and please don’t hesitate to contact the committee with your ideas and suggestions.

Thank you for all you do!
Raheem

Updates from the CoE DEI Council

  • A new site aggregating information about campus resources ranging from mental health and well-being to academic support and career development is available on all Canvas course sites. Course instructors are invited to look at their Canvas sites, and direct students to the "GT Student Resources" tab.

  • Michigan’s CRLT Players will be visiting campus and performing April 3 and 4. The sessions, titled "You Don't Belong Here: The Stories Our Systems Tell (and Why We Have to Disrupt Them)," will be 90 minutes and will consider the way that stories of non-belonging and exclusion are perpetuated at the system level.
Questions? Suggestions? Contact DEI Council Chair Iris Tien.

Happy Anniversary!
