Whether anticipated or not, we as both humans and people of faith find ourselves in the in-between places,
those liminal spaces in which we are challenged to embrace the “unknown.” .

Would you enjoy serving as a liturgist on Sundays?
Our liturgists add additional voices to our worship experience at DCC. We can provide a bit of training and would love to have you. Sign up here.

Questions? Please contact Alf Brandt

COVID Update:
The COVID Community Level has risen to MEDIUM from LOW in Yolo County.
Wastewater, however, contains the highest level of
three genes of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, since the beginning of the pandemic. Hospitalizations are lagging but expected to increase. Masks continue to be required for worship and encouraged indoors. Read more here.

Yolo County Health Department
N95, KN95 or KN94 masks at the worship service continue to be required.

We serve communion indoors. Participants are invited forward to receive communion, but return to their seats before removing their mask and consuming the bread and juice. We also provide an outdoor option for those who feel more comfortable outdoors. (Chancel Choir members and speakers remove their masks.)

In the event of an exposure to COVID, please follow the Centers for Disease Control guidance. Wear a mask and test on Day 6 following the exposure.

Read more here.

If you or a child in your family has a fever, please stay home. If you have a cough or any other symptoms, please test for COVID before participation in a DCC event.

Stay up-to-date on COVID vaccines and get a booster when eligible.
(It's also time to get a seasonal flu shot.)

On Campus – Masking Highly Recommended
DCC's Session continues to HIGHLY RECOMMEND, but not require, masking indoors. Having said that, groups are encouraged to discuss and agree to the precautions they will take so that everyone in the group feels safe. Groups may choose to require more, but not less, stringent precautions.

Sunday School
Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Children's Ministry COVID Precautions
For all who attend Sunday School, we require proof of full vaccination, including booster shots for all who
are eligible.

Discovery Time (DT) is a short in-person Bible story time offered in the Sanctuary during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service, and is followed by Sunday School. Children attending DT will be asked to follow the same COVID precautions as those attending the service: i.e., full vaccination (as eligible) or testing within 72 hours of events at DCC, and high-quality masks. Everyone age 2 and over will be required to wear an N95, KN95 or KF94 mask while indoors. We have additional masks of this kind on hand.

For children who do not wish to go into the Sanctuary for DT, or who cannot be vaccinated or test, childcare will be provided outdoors and DT will be available for you to watch from home on the DCC YouTube channel. For all children attending Sunday School or other childcare sessions, please be sure to bring proof of vaccination for your children, or email a photo of their card to
 kate@dccpres.org.

  •     An interest in setting aside time for prayer during the week (We all just try our best.)
  •     A shaky or firm belief in the power of prayer
Would you like to be part of the dedicated team of prayers? If so, please contact Heather Carson or text (530)601-1923 to join the team. It is possible that you were on the team but we have lost your email. Please contact Heather to continue.

Empower Yolo: Bath Towel Donations

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. We often partner with Empower Yolo, a local non-profit that serves marginalized people throughout the county. Empower Yolo relies on donations for, among other things, survivors of abuse. This month they request brand new towels.

Davis Community Church is generous. "We will grow in gratitude and generosity" (Vision 2028). One way to live into the vision is to donate a towel. It will provide comfort to a survivor.

Your gifts can be placed in the box labeled "Empower Yolo" in the church narthex during Sunday services in January. The church office will also accept the items during regular office hours, Sunday 12 noon to 2 PM and Monday through Thursday 9 AM to 1 PM.

Thank you!

Secure Giving to DCC
We Get Screened Out as SPAM: How to Prevent That!
There are several things you can do that might help:
1. Add Davis Community Church and announcements@dccpres.org to your Contacts.
2. If your ISP (AOL, sbcglobal, gmail, att, etc.) has a Safe Senders list, add announcements@dccpres.org
to that list.
3. Search your SPAM and Promotions emails for Davis Community Church and annoucements@dccpres.org. If you find it, open it, star it as important, and/or "not SPAM." (The options vary depending on your ISP.) Your ISP will learn that we are not SPAM.
4. You might need to search for a solution. Try a Google search for Safe Senders list for ________ (your ISP).

Backup Plan
Generally, these things work out with time. In the meantime, you can always find the e-news on the website. On the front page at
dccpres.org, look for E-NEWS just below the photo on the Home page.
That will take you to the
archive of e-newsletters. The e-news appears there immediately after distribution on Friday afternoon. (I know that is less than ideal.)
