The Kensington BIA is proud to present 'Can't Stop The Love in Kensington' throughout the month of February, as part of Chinook Blast - Calgary's premier winter festival celebrating community, culture and civic pride. 'Can't Stop The Love in Kensington' is a showcase of the art, culture and inclusivity Kensington has to offer as a community in the city. The community will also be hosting community fire pits every Sunday afternoon throughout the month.
Festivities will take place on Sundays:
January 29 12:30 to 2:30
February 5 12:00 to 5:00
February 12 12:30 to 2:30
On Sunday, Jan. 29 from 12:30-2:30 p.m., there will be a live performance from local musician Amelie Patterson. Visitors can enjoy complimentary snacks and hot beverages provided by local Kensington businesses.
On Feb. 5 from Noon-3 p.m., there will be a drag queen fashion show hosted by Hire Heels YYC and Kylee Roman in the Plaza area featuring some of our local Kensington boutiques, including Purr and Kensington Konsignment. Visitors can enjoy a unique outdoor fashion experience and a "weenie roast," with gourmet hotdogs from EATCROW Snack Bar, while warming up by the fire and enjoying hot beverages from Good Trade and Deville.
On Feb. 12 from Noon-3 p.m., there will be a live performance from local musician Ashley Ghostkeeper. Visitors can enjoy complimentary snacks and hot beverages provided by local Kensington businesses.
Throughout the month, don't forget to write your #kensingtonloveletters for a chance to win $$$$ in #kensingtonyyc business gift cards! Love letters can be delivered to the orange mailbox on the cast iron gate between Deville and the Kensington Pub or during the weekend February fire pits (Sunday's from Noon-3 p.m). Entries will be accepted weekly beginning Jan. 29 until Feb. 12.
