    We pray that you had a wonderful Christmas. God truly blessed our Christmas here in Nepal! It is the best time of year to share the gospel and we have always had the best reception from people during the Christmas season. Each year, we hold a special Christmas service at Beginnings Baptist Church on Christmas Day. We had new visitors and people we had not seen in many months. Many of the kids from our Friday kids club came and heard about the gift of Christ once again. 

    The next day, Akash, Justus, Samuel and I drove to Bardibas for two nights of Christmas outreach services. We had two places picked out where we know believers who want to reach their neighbors with the gospel. Upon arrival, we met with the believers before going around inviting their friends, family, and neighbors to our evening service. Akash and Samuel led the service with singing. We showed a video of Luke 2 and then I the preached a gospel message to many who had never heard. Tuesday’s service in the second location did not go as we had planned because we had to have it during the day in a Maithili speaking area. However, I got to share the story of Christmas and salvation in Jesus to many unbelievers once again. I had to preach with an interpreter time time, but I pray one day I will be able to speak directly to these needy people in their heart language.

    Another exciting event this past month was Shepherd’s eighth birthday! The picture below of Shepherd helping build a fire perfectly sums up Shepherd’s personality. He is always ready to help with whatever work needs to be done. He is a great helper at church, Camp Refuge and any village we visit. I praise the Lord that Shepherd has trusted Christ for salvation this past year. Please pray with us that God would continue to mature him into a man of God.
