5 NEW VEGGIES
YOU CAN EXPECT TO SEE

Amish Melon

We are giving cantaloupe another try this season and we think this variety has what we need to be succeed! No summer is complete without it!

These beauties are coming from a new to us seed company - Revival Seeds located right here in NS!

Leysa Sweet Pepper

This beautiful Ukrainian heirloom was grown by Annapolis Seed with a growth type perfect for a Nova Scotian grower. Can't Wait!

Wilbert's Lemon Cucumber

It was so cute to see how many of you were missing the lemon cucumber last year and it's even better that we found a local supplier of this beautiful seed, Thank you Revival Seeds! We will also be trying their Beit Alpha Cucumber which is a small burpless type!

Over The Rainbow Carrot

These tye dye beauties have been bred right here in NS by Twisted Brook Farm and we are so excited to be growing these carrots.

NS has a ton of wild carrot so breeding carrots can be a tricky business so these are surely a treat to treasure!

You will most likely see these beauties in the fall shares!

Lemon Zucchini

I couldn't resist these adorable zucchini's grown by Annapolis Seed! Not to worry they don't taste like lemons but rather somewhere between the classic zucchini and a patty pan zucchini which isn't surprising based on the look of the zucchini!
Do You Know About
A Place of Fruition?
Last year was our first time running A Place of Fruition and it unfold with such special magic. This has been a dream of mine and I was finally brave enough to do it!
From June to October, on every Thursday between 2-6pm you can head out to the farm to explore and occasionally participate in learning based events! Kids and leashed dogs are always welcomed and there is a semi-fancy outhouse on the farm. You are in no way obligated to be social for we know nature is sometimes a get away. We want this space to be for everyone and anyone. Here are some the events we have on the farm!

BEHIND THE SCENES
Adam is the brew master of the farm except he is brewing a nice and stinky compost tea. Between intentional plantings and wildly available plants we have all the nutrient dense plants we need to make compost tea - just add water, sun and stir! Adam makes one about every 2 weeks from June to August and applies it to whatever needs it! He absloutely loves it!
Courtney makes sure each plants basic needs are being met and that includes water! We are very strategic about our water use and it seems like we will have to up our game after last summer. We lost lots of newly germinated plants that are most susceptible to lack of water. 2023 plan is more mulching, new pond dug and keeping fussy plants close to the water sources.
Ruby is a veggie eating farm dog you are sure to meet if you come for a visit. She is very sweet and absolutely loves a belly rub and when she gets in trouble she just brings her belly out and says sorry. Kale stems are here favorite veggie on the farm and will pick her own stems until mom says "no". She loves running along with all the farm equipment and thinks she the boss.
