Dear colleagues,

I am writing to invite you to participate in a virtual discussion on the implications for Europe of the US Inflation Reduction Act and related US initiatives to accelerate the clean energy transition. The event is January 19 from 930-1100 US Eastern/1530-1700 CET.  Zoom link below.

In December we had three US speakers comment on the IRA. The slides they presented are attached for your background. For January 19 we will offer a brief update on IRA implementation, which began Jan 1, and then to focus on the European side of things. For opening remarks/perspectives on Europe we will be joined by
-- Charlotte Andersdotter, International Director of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise
-- Tobias Lechtenfeld of Tech for Net Zero Alliance
-- Martin Porter of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership
-- Rupert Schlegelmilch, DG Trade, European Commission (invited)

The session is held under Chatham House Rule. I anticipate good attendance from US and European colleagues, officials, think tankers, etc., as well as some media.

Please feel free to pass on the invitation to others who may be interested. I simply ask that people RSVP to me so we have some sense of who will participate.

Zoom link is below. I hope it might work for you. Many thanks.

Best
Dan
