“Barefoot in the Park" Performance by Capitol Shakespeare at ND Heritage Center & State Museum
BISMARCK, N.D. – The Capitol Shakespeare production of "Barefoot in the Park," directed by Deb Carpenter, will be performed Feb. 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. The performances are free and open to the public.
Written by American playwright Neil Simon, “Barefoot in the Park" is a romantic comedy set in 1960s New York City. The story follows a newlywed couple, Paul and Corie Bratter, as they move into their new apartment and decide to play matchmaker for Corie’s mother. The original production premiered on Broadway in 1963 and found additional success as a film starring Robert Redford and Jane Fonda in 1967. "Barefoot in the Park" was Neil Simon's longest-running hit.
The performances are co-sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota and Capitol Shakespeare.
