The Town of Wellfleet is in the process of updating its Open Space and Recreation (OSR) 5-Year Plan and needs your input. This survey will help identify the needs and concerns of the community regarding Wellfleet’s open space and recreation resources so that the Plan can address them. Having an approved OSR Plan is required for the Town to qualify for State reimbursement programs, which offset acquisition costs so that these important community assets can be protected in perpetuity.
In this survey, "Open Space" is defined as publicly accessible undeveloped lands that deserve to be conserved for a variety of reasons, including: contributing to Harbor, fresh water, and ground water quality; providing passive and active recreation opportunities; mitigating impacts of climate change; protecting public access to the Harbor, bay, beaches, and ponds; or simply because their location and scenic qualities contribute to the overall character of the Town.
