SkillsUSA State Officer Candidate Applications Now Open
SkillsUSA State Officers serve as student ambassadors for SkillsUSA throughout the state. Each year SkillsUSA NC recruits student leaders at the high school and postsecondary level who would like the challenge of serving and representing SkillsUSA North Carolina students, teachers and industry leaders.

Are You Ready for SkillsUSA Week?
SkillsUSA Week will be happening Feb. 6-10, and you can participate in many ways: Honor your community supporters, connect with local business and industry professionals, or make a presentation about your CTE program and SkillsUSA chapter at a school board meeting. Celebrate the week by planning activities that follow the daily schedule for chapters nationwide.
Monday, Feb. 6, Recognize and honor members, advisors, administrators, business partners, community leaders and supporters who make a meaningful impact on your CTE program and SkillsUSA chapter.
Tuesday, Feb. 7, Give Back Day. Rally around your school community by focusing on ways for your chapter to give back.
Wednesday, Feb. 8, Partner Day. Invite local business and industry leaders to connect with members, highlighting the importance of developing career-readiness skills found in the SkillsUSA Framework.
Thursday, Feb. 9, Advocacy Day. Amplify CTE in your community by conducting a local public relations activity, such as presenting to school board members, administrators and community leaders.
Friday, Feb. 10, SkillsUSA Day. Celebrate SkillsUSA by wearing your favorite SkillsUSA T-shirt, planning a celebration activity or posting your SkillsUSA Framework story on social media using the hashtag: #SkillsUSAWeek.

DEWALT Trades Scholarship
Our friends at Stanley Black & Decker have established theDEWALT Trades Scholarshipto assist individuals attending a two-year college or vocational-technical school who are pursuing a trade degree or certificate. Get Students Career Ready With the SkillsUSA Framework Integration Toolkit
The Framework Integration Toolkit helps advisors to ensure career readiness within your classroom, training program and chapter. Eight strategies have been developed to integrate the SkillsUSA Framework into the classroom, each with activities and suggestions for additional learning opportunities. The Framework provides a structure to assess student development along a learning continuum of awareness, demonstration and mastery. Professional members can access the Toolkit in SkillsUSA Absorb.
SkillsUSA Technical Fridays Workshop
Join us for “SkillsUSA Technical Fridays,” a series of virtual workshops led by industry experts to help teachers develop specific technical skills relevant to their career fields. Leave the sessions with new knowledge and skills to implement in the classroom. On Jan. 27, from 4-5 p.m. ET, Dan Banach will lead an “Autodesk Fusion 360” session with an overview of Fusion 360, including tips to get started as well as sketching, part and assembly modeling and how to create setup for additive and subtractive manufacturing. He is a nationally recognized instructor, speaker at Autodesk University and author of 25 books on 3D mechanical design software, Learn more about the workshops here.
