Wota and Dance Workshop!

You've all seen those anime OP's where the characters all dance in unison right? Well, that could literally be you!

Pull up on Friday, January 27th to LIFE 2202 to learn everything about breakin' it down and push the limits of your dancing ability! We'll be learning popular dances that appear in some of your favorite anime with the instruction of our most talented execs!

Next time you get pushed into the middle of the dance circle at your local anime convention rave, you can blow everyone away with your newly learned skillz! Show the world that you aren't the average weeb by demonstrating complete control over your body, and DROPPING HEAT on the dance floor.

Dancing isn't the only skill you'll be learning this week though, cause we also have an exclusive once-in-a-lifetime shot at learning how to enjoy weeb music the proper way. It's time for the wildest wotagei workshop in west Vancouver, hosted by a previous exec, Marko! Join us as we cheer, clap, and dance our way through the basics of wotagei in our hands-on workshop. *single use penlights will be provided, but you should bring your own if you have some

For those who don't know, Wotagei (オタ芸) is a dance performed by Idol fans that is meant to go along with a concert! It contains lightstick movements and chants, and is a super fun way to enjoy otaku music with your friends!

Check out Markos super cool intro video here!

Please RSVP for the event here!

The wota workshop will take place BEFORE the dance workshop, as seen in the schedule below.

Coscafe Server, Artist Alley, and Performer Applications!

UBC Ani's largest event, Coscafe, is on the horizon! This year's cosplay cafe will be bigger and better than ever, but it would just be a cafe without a bunch of amazing cosplayers!

To that end, we're beginning the process of recruiting servers for the Coscafe team! If you have a bomb cosplay you'd like to show off, or just wanna help out at the event, then please fill out the form below!

Here's the super cool form pls click on it! https://ubcani.com/serverteam

If you were a server at last year's Coscafe, this one will be run a little differently, so I encourage you to read the blurb on the Google Form to learn a bit about what we're doing for this year before you apply!

We're also going to have an Artist's Alley at this year's Coscafe, which is a way for all of our talented artists to showcase and sell their work to the attendees at the event! Just apply using the form below if you'd like to table at the event! This is our largest event of the year, and will be more accessible than ever, so you won't wanna miss out!

Here's the form! https://ubcani.com/artistalley

Finally, UBC Ani is also looking for people to help run the events on the stage during the Coscafe! You'll get to see all the performances up close and have all the perks that regular volunteers get, including free admission! Check out the form and see if any of the positions there appeal to you!
