The Sermon on the Mount

FROM THE INTERIM RECTOR

Friends,

A reminder that this Sunday is the
111th Annual Meeting of the Parish of St. Christopher’s. It promises to be a celebratory time as we recognize and celebrate the mission and ministry of this place.

The business of the annual meeting will be to elect new members to the vestry, highlight reports from the Interim Rector, Wardens, Search Committee, and the Treasurer, select delegates to Diocesan Convention, discuss and receive the 2023 Congregational Budget, and to thank those leaving leadership positions. It is important that all who can, be present, and participate. There will be activities downstairs for the children during the meeting.

Response to the warden’s appeal letter has been overwhelming. Our treasurer Marty Dunlavey will share good news with us Sunday. Although we still have a deficit budget, it is more in line with this congregation’s tradition.

Lunch will be served immediately after the meeting. Our wardens are providing the sandwiches. Please SIGN UP BY LINKING HERE to bring sides and drinks.

A special eNews will be shared Saturday evening with a link to download the Annual Report. Copies of the 2023 Annual Report which includes the 2023 budget will be available at the back of the church.

Remember, one Sunday service at 10:00AM. The Annual Meeting begins at 11:15AM. Lunch served between 12noon -12:30PM.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday!

Faithfully,
Kevin

"A fruitful connection for teaching faith can be made between J.K. Rowling's baptism and receiving a Hogwarts letter. The letter doesn't make one magical, nor does baptism make a person into the image of God. Our sacraments do not create our identity, but they name and feed our identity and direct us toward our destiny to be one with God as Christ is one with God." -The Rev. Dr. Patricia Lyons, Teaching Faith with Harry Potter
