Theology on Tap

Friday, Jan. 27, 6-8 PM

All are welcome to join us for our Adult Faith Formation Theology on Tap group Friday, 1/27, from 6-8 PM. Theology on Tap is a casual discussion group that gives adults a chance to dive into a different UU theological question and have a loosely guided discussion over their favorite pint, a glass of wine, water, juice, or whatever other delicious concoction they choose to bring. Please reach out to April Rosario if you have any questions or if you will be needing childcare.

**Drinks are BYOB, and we ask that folks bring an appetizer or snack to share.

Our Whole Lives: Taking Flight for 8-10 Graders
Classes Sundays 2/1 - 6/4 10 AM

We are proud to be offering Taking Flight an Our Whole Lives (OWL), a comprehensive sexuality education course for 8-10 graders beginning in this February.

Taking Flight is an 18-week course (beginning Feb 1) full of interactive workshops and lesson plans designed to engage participants and provide honest and accurate information. Taking Flight helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior while also: dismantling stereotypes and assumptions, building self-acceptance and self-esteem, fostering healthy relationships, and improving decision-making.  Taking Flight provides accurate, developmentally appropriate information about a range of topics, including relationships, gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual health, and cultural influences on sexuality.

Classes will run Sundays from 10:15 -11:45 am (during church) from Feb 1 - June 4. For more information, please contact April Rosario - Director of Religious Education, at dre@firstparishtaunton.org

** Taking Flight is also open to community youth, so please feel free to share.
First Friday Night Social Justice Film Discussions

Led by your lead minister, Rev. Michelle, we will engage in a three-part series of film discussions over the next 3 first Fridays of the month (Feb. 3rd; March 3rd; April 7th) of the PBS documentary Race: The Power of an Illusion. Those attending will have a deeper grasp of the history of racism in the United States context in preparation for the offering our Director of Faith Formation, April, will lead in May to help us further live into our new 8th Principle. This next meeting is on Friday, Feb. 3rd, to view and discuss the first episode, "The Differences Between Us." The overall meeting time is anticipated to be 6-8PM in the minister's office or sanctuary commons, depending on the size of the group. Snacks will be provided and all are welcome. Childcare is available only to church members by advance registration a week ahead with the Director of Faith Formation.
