Welcome to the first edition of our HUB Highlights Calls/Opportunities newsletter for 2023!

I hope you all had a relaxing holiday season. We are starting off the new year with some exciting new listings! Here are some notable ones to check out: 
Join us for a MARTY Nomination Information Session! 📣
Nominations are now OPEN for the 28th Mississauga Arts Awards and we invite all those interested to join us for an Information Session on Feb 1, 2023, at 3 PM. MAC staff will be reviewing the nomination process and answering any questions attendees may have.

  • Call for Artists - Annual April Fine Art Show - Arts on the Credit | January 20
    ➡️ Learn more and submit
    Arts on the Credit's annual fine art show is excited to return to the Waterside Inn on April 28-30 to showcase works from local artists throughout the GTA and they are searching for artists! The deadline to submit is January 20.

  • Call for Emerging Artists: Public Art Banner Program - City of Mississauga | February 26 at 11:59 PM EST
    ➡️ Learn more and submit
    The City's Public Art Program invites emerging artists, artist teams, and illustrators to submit expressions of interest and concept proposals for original banner artwork. Banner artwork will be displayed on light pole standards throughout the city, creating a captivating visual presence from June to winter 2023. The commissioned artist(s) will create six banner designs. The City will be responsible for all fabrication and installation. At the end of the program, the commissioned artist(s) will have the opportunity to shadow an established sculptural or textile-based artist, who will transform the banners into a new creation.

  • Call for Submissions - Ink Movement's Mississauga Youth Anthology 2023 | March 15

    Ink Movement has opened its submissions for its annual Mississauga Youth Anthology! Since 2012, Ink Movement has strived to give young artists and writers a larger platform for them to share their work. They’ve published multiple anthologies filled with incredible art and writing created by Mississauga youth The theme of this year’s anthology is Adapting. They are seeking work that covers the topic of dealing with life changes (or alternatively, COVID recovery). They are accepting submissions from Mississauga youth aged 12-24.

    CreativeHub 1352 is looking for individuals passionate about making a difference in communities and interested in helping them strengthen local connections to join them on their Board of Directors! Multiple positions are now available. The volunteer Board of Directors is central to the organization and actively works to assist in the planning and programming of CreativeHub 1352 and in advancing local arts, culture, heritage and environmental initiatives.
