Dear Members,
Kensington is experiencing its share of the increasing crime and social disorder that is being experienced in Canadian cities. The BRZ has been working hard advocating for help from all levels of government for more funding, for new solutions and for a coordinated strategy to address issues like addiction, mental health, homelessness and crime.
We have scheduled a Kensington Crime and Safety Town Hall for Monday, January 16 from 6:30 – 8:30. This is an in person event at the Hillhurst United Church gymnasium. Panellists available to answer questions include the Ward 7 councillor, the Calgary Police Service Superintendent for Community Policing in our area, a Sgt. from District 3 which includes the Kensington area, the Kensington Community Resources Officer, a Kensington area Transit Sgt, and a representative from Alpha House.
If increasing crime and social disorder is affecting your business, please come to this Town Hall where you’ll be able to ask questions as well as receive information about what your BRZ and your City are doing to try to help.
