<<First Name>> how is winter treating you?

Winter is one of the hardest seasons in terms of mental health, and January is one of the most difficult months. The weather is very rarely on our side, and we are naturally on a come down from all the Christmas festivities, and this honestly makes us feel crappy. But you are not in this alone, you are not the only person feeling like this (if you are) and there are lots of ways to help us get us back on top… Keep reading to find out our helpful hints to keep you feeling amazing over the next few months…

GET MOVING: Exercise IS the best way to improve our mood, and exercise that makes us sweat and makes our heart beat faster than normal is the most effective instant endorphin releaser. Just 15 minutes of exercise will give you that relief.

SET AN ALARM CLOCK: Getting the optimum amount of sleep 7-9 hours and having a sleep routine, going to bed at the same time and waking up at the same time will be a life changer, and help you make the most of the daylight hours.

LAUGH: Watch some good comedies, go to a live comedy show, play fun games with your friends and family… laughing will definitely make you feel better.

HERBAL TEAS: Warm drinks comfort us anyway, so drinking some hot cocoa is not a bad idea either, but herbal teas have energy boosting properties. They will help us focus and give us the energy to go and do things when we would normally slouch on the couch.

SOCIALISE: When we feel down we tend to isolate ourselves, so this can be a viscious circle. But socialising even if it is only with one or two people will already help you feel better.

GIVE YOURSELF A GOAL: Give yourelf something to work towards, maybe you want to learn something, or make something, or want to run 5k… whatever it is, work towards it, and track your progress.

BOOK A HOLIDAY: Whether it is one of our Fitness & Wellness Retreats or a mini weekend break away, give yourself something to look forward to, and something that is different from your regular 9-5 routine.

ASK FOR HELP: Remember, if you are feeling down <<First Name>>, no matter how bad YOU perceive it, do not be afraid to ask for help. You can ask a friend, family member, doctor, colleague… it doesn’t matter who, but remember help is there <<First Name>> and waiting for you IF you want or need it.
