Youth Work Network In-person Session - Great Yarmouth

Tuesday 21 February, 10:30am-12pm

All Norfolk-based Youth Workers are welcome to join us to network, share best practice, and offer support in a safe open space.
Each Youth Work Network meeting includes unstructured time to network and build relationships over a cuppa, followed by more focused time discussing a particular topic.

This time, we’ll be looking especially at how we evaluate our youth projects and in particular, how we gather feedback from the young people we work with.

Exploitation Campaign Engagement Focus Group – Children at Risk

An opportunity for Norfolk Youth Sector to help shape a communications campaign to raise awareness of the exploitation of children at risk.
During the focus group, you will be asked for your opinions on key messages, channels for delivering messages, and the look and feel of campaign materials. Your expertise in this area will be invaluable to ensuring that we provide a better targeted campaign that reaches those most in need of our help and support.

Effective Outcomes Based Youth Work

This course is aimed at those who have completed their level 3 certificate in Youth Work and need to complete additional units for the Youth Work diploma, or as an optional unit for those still completing their level 3 Youth Work certificate.
In this module, you will focus on the principles of outcomes in youth work and how they might be applied to your work with young people. You will have an opportunity to develop an outcome-based framework and an outcome-based project which will centre around your own youth work setting.

Find out more in the attached document.

HEE Wider Children's Workforce Mental Health Training

The Anna Freud Centre, Charlie Waller Trust, and National Children’s Bureau are developing a mental health training for the wider children’s workforce that aims to help all workers who come into contact with children receive the same basic training in emotional health, much as we skill everyone in how to safeguard children.
Please take 5 minutes to complete a survey to indicate what you need from the training.

The survey closes on Monday 30 January.

Online Safety Webinars

Norfolk Constabulary’s Safer Schools Team and their colleagues in Prevent (Counter Terrorism), Cyber Security and the Safeguarding Children Online Team will be delivering two webinars about keeping children safe online.

Youth Work Network Padlet Board

Don’t forget, we have a Padlet board where you can share resources, training opportunities and information about new projects. It also has a ‘Q&A’ section where you can get support from your fellow youth workers and answer their queries.

If you’re not used to Padlet and want some help getting started, please contact Charlotte.
