In this week's email, we thought we'd share a little bit about who we are and what we do, and how you can be part of it.
Cass County Communication Network is an initiative to improve access to local information. We facilitate quick, efficient and effective sharing of local information through our websites, app, email newsletter and social media.
We often get asked if there's a list of upcoming events in the community and the answer is YES! Back in February 2009, we launched CassCountyCalendar.com to provide a central location for people to find and share events happening in Cass County. The list of upcoming events is updated almost every day, and it's FREE to post events on the website.
CassCountyOnline.com is a central hub for information. We use the front page of the website as a bulletin board for community information and reminders. We post press releases we receive about programs and services and we create and share lists of resources available in our community. We have a job board where area companies can share job openings at no charge. We sell ads on the websites to showcase local businesses and to generate the revenue that funds our operations.
Our websites power the Cass County INFO app, which also contains a community guide and a section where local businesses can share deals and reminders. We're able to send push notifications through the app and we use them to share things like road closures, school delays and reminders.
We pull information from all of these sources to include in this weekly email that currently goes to 1800+ subscribers. We also offer options for local businesses, organizations and events to purchase ads in our email (see this week's ads below).
We have a strong presence on social media, including Facebook, Instagram and now LinkedIn. We use social media to share information and connect with people in our community.
We believe that information is an important part of a community's infrastructure.
We know that people are busy, and they assume that if information is important, it will find them.
We provide ways to help make that happen.
We're grateful to the local businesses, organizations and leaders who support the services we provide by advertising with us and by sharing information with us, and we always have room for more.
