Dear Snake River Sporting Club community,
One of the best parts about my job is hearing the joyful and often relief-inducing response from someone after soaking. It is always a delight to see the immediate change to someone’s mood or physical posture. And our Astoria Park Conservancy team is over the moon that we are able to offer our healing waters to community members this week after nearly a month of closure.
As "permit holders", you have access to walk-in to our Bridge the Gap Community Soaks, as well as join us for permit-holder only soaks on select Sundays - Thursdays 9am - 11am. To learn how to visit Astoria, check out our webpage made just for you all, who hold the "Golden Ticket", AKA US Forest Service permit to access the Johnny Counts Route. Plus, visit Astoria for special Medicine Wheel Wellness programs such as breathwork meditation, intro to cold plunge, and yoga flow.
Construction crews began to shore-up the bridge this week. This will enable engineers to fully evaluate it, and we hope to have their reports to inform our long term plan sometime later this month. We look forward to sharing updates with you as soon as we can, and we thank you for your understanding.
