Treasure Valley Artists Alliance
Presidents’ New Year Greetings
January 12, 2023
Thank you to the TVAA Board for placing their trust in me as the new TVAA President. I am very excited for this New Year and all of the creative opportunities ahead for TVAA in 2023. My goal as President is to continue to foster relationships among members and the local art community. I will encourage member participation in all aspects of exhibitions, empowering members to grow their professional and creative skills. TVAA members possess a tremendous variety of talent. As an organization we have valuable traditions and resources to continue to build upon. Curating for TVAA at Nampa Civic Center these past 4 years has been instrumental in growing my own creative professional skills. Curating is an exciting and fun process that I want to share more widely with our members through the committees. Together we will continue to build upon the great foundation TVAA has built over these past 12 years. Our greatest strength as an organization is in our artistic variety of styles, mediums and perspectives. The future of TVAA is to create the highest quality inclusive group art exhibitions in the Treasure Valley.
Happy New Year 2023!
Leslie Jay Bosch, TVAA Board President

YOUNG AT ART: CREATIVE WORK BY YOUNGSTERS & BEGINNERS OF ALL AGES.

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”

- Picasso

To be “young at art” is to embrace the fact that we’re all beginners at something. It’s about celebrating childlike wonder and creativity. Anyone and everyone can submit something to this show, regardless of skill level or age.

Acceptable mediums include: 2D visual art (painting, drawing, etc.), 3D artwork (textiles, sculpture, non-permanent installations, etc.), creative writing, photography, short film, choreography, music, theater, spoken word.

All entries must fit into the “Young At Art” theme, Here’s some ideas to get you started:

KIDS & YOUTH UNDER AGE 18

  • Show us something you made that you’re proud of! YOU choose your subject, style, and medium!

ADULTS

  • Submit your creative work in a subject, medium, or style that you’re new at or still learning (AKA, you’re “young at”).
  • Collaborate on a project with a few youngsters you know.
  • Create art about childlike creativity, wonder, or what it was like to be a kid.
