Van Scoyoc To Retire; Burke-Gonzalez to Seek Supervisor Seat

East Hampton Town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc announced Friday morning, Jan. 13 that he will not seek re-election to a fourth term as Supervisor this November. His Deputy Supervisor, Kathee Burke-Gonzalez announced later in the morning that she will screen with the East Hampton Town Democrats to run for the Supervisor seat.

Southold to Talk Moratorium on Battery Storage Systems

The Southold Town Board will consider a 12-month moratorium on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) while developing town code to regulate such facilities, Town Supervisor Scott Russell announced on the afternoon of Jan. 12, just prior to a forum on BESS systems scheduled for this evening by the Cutchogue Civic Association.
