Volunteers are the lifeblood of foodbanks and your skills could be just what's needed. They are building a small team of volunteers to help the Foodbank by collecting surplus food from local supermarkets. Stores will notify us of surpluses and give us a timeframe to collect. We will contact team members and ask for somebody to do the collection. You need to be able to get to the store, which may be in central Cambridge, and deliver to the Foodbank warehouse on Cowley Road.

They also need volunteers to join the teams helping in the Distribution Centres on Fridays. You will be welcoming Foodbank visitors, chatting to them and helping them with their food parcels. You need to be good at listening, maintaining confidentiality, and able to deal with the many different people who come to the Foodbank. You should be comfortable using a tablet computer.  For further information, please email volunteer@ccfb.org.u

Are you a group looking for interesting speakers?

Presentations can be given at a time to suit your group, including evenings and weekends.  To book your site visit or outreach talk please email: wmt@cambridgeshire.gov.uk or call 01223 715928
