New Navigation | Blocks | Notification Center

We’re glad to be back and have some exciting
product updates to share with you!

🧭 New Customizable Navigation

It can be hard to figure out where to go and what to do when you land in a new product, both as an admin and as a learner. We updated our navigation to ensure that you and your learners have a more seamless and intuitive experience that enables you to easily access courses, resources, discussions, events, and more.

Our new nav is modular and easy to organize, so your members can spend less time looking for things, and more time engaging with your content and spaces. 

With the new navigation, you can: 

• Create and customize spaces by adding and removing apps

• Control the visibility, order, and appearance of your spaces 

• Customize the name of default pages in your nav learning community nav (i.e. ‘Experiences’, ‘Members’ etc.)

🛠 Modular Content Blocks

When we talk about customization, we’re not just referring to brand colors. Blocks empower you to customize Disco right down to the architecture of your learning community. By adding and moving blocks in the home or space dashboard, you can bring your learning community to life.

Blocks give you control over the courses, events, pages, and apps you want to highlight for your members, helping to increase engagement by ensuring your offerings are beautifully showcased and easily accessible. 

With blocks, you can: 

• Customize the appearance and organization of your community home

• Feature courses and events that you don’t want your members to miss 

• Engage members with an activity feed through discussions happening across the community

🔔 The Notification Center

A learning community thrives on member engagement. At any given moment, someone is joining your learning community, a member replies in a discussion thread, or an admin publishes a new events series—there is a lot going on! We designed the notification center as the central hub where you, and your members, can view all the activity within your learning community, organized by the most recent activity. 

The notifications center enables you to stay on top of operations and communications by ensuring you never miss a thing. And it does the same for your members, making it easier for them to participate and connect with their peers. 

With the notification center, you can: 

• Keep track of all the activities in your learning community, in one place

• Customize what activities you want to be notified about in the settings tab 

• Stay on top of actions, like responding to a comment, by easily clicking on the specific notification
