Alhammdulillah as you are aware by now, Attawheed Islamic Community has grown exponentially in the last couple of years.  This is reflected in the number of Muslims for Jumu’ah Salahs.  As an Islamic organization the increase is expected ma shaa Allah.  But with such an increase, the responsibility of reflecting Islam and Islamic manners to the neighbours around AIC is imperative to our existence in Carnegie.  This is a duty that every AIC attendee needs to perform and apply when in and around the masjid.  Coming to Jumu’ah and infringing on someone's rights is not a Muslim’s way and is contrary to Da'wah.

Between the two salahs, AIC hosts over 750 people. Given the small space for parking that AIC owns, it is clear we need to be circumspect. These limitations have caused major discomfort and complaints with AIC neighbours and friends with attendees illegally parking around the masjid.  AIC has received complaints from CVS, GetGO, Glass Building across the street, United Methodist Church as well as neighbours in general.  This has a HUGE negative impact on the masjid, attendees and our relationship with the neighbors and the borough.  Our reputation with the Borough is getting damaged that can impact current and future AIC operations.

We try our best to fit the maximum number of cars in our lot.  Our neighbour (Kwiecien Auto Service -Joe) is so kind with our community that he closes his shop during salah times and allows us to park in front of his garage doors. We continuously thank him as we see him on a daily basis and show our gratitude towards him.

The Church lot is NOT open for our attendees because of the damage that was caused by the "FEW" who lack Islamic manners.  We lost parking privileges in Church parking because of the actions of a few members of our community. The same thing applies to the Glass building parking lot.

In the last few weeks, several attendees who came late for salah decided to park in the middle of the roadway on Williams Way and Sansbury Street and block traffic while they were inside the masjid.  Few even argued with neighbours when confronted.  Police and the borough came several times to issue tickets to all illegally parked cars.  This kind of reckless behavior is reflected on the AIC community and cannot result in any good outcome.  Safety of the Jumu’ah patrons and AIC is at risk when roads are blocked. In case of an emergency, fire trucks and ambulances wouldn't be able to come through and we as a community will be responsible for the outcome. AIC patrons need to be aware that cars can get towed which may be the next step decision for the police. This past Friday was just a warning and we have no control over what they will do next.

AIC attendees need to understand the parking limitations that the masjid has.  Given the masjid’s location, we expect that parking limitations will remain for the foreseeable future. Solution is available but ATTENDEES need to implement it.

Solution: Please take a look at the map below and utilize the following areas for parking that are marked in GREEN.
- Main street parking
- Parking lots near Post office on main street
- Mansfield Blvd.
