A message from the Pastor...

This Sunday we are going to reintroduce the You Pick 2 menu concept from last fall. The "menu" will be available outside the sanctuary and gives you a chance to sign up for one way to "feed your soul" and one way to "feed others."

We are all called to do our part for self-care and caring for others. That does not mean we all have to do everything - we can all pick and choose what works well for the particular life moment that we are in. We don't have to do it all, but we all can do something. I hope that you will carefully consider how you can make a difference in 2023 through Old Mission - both for yourself and for those who live around you.

I hope you'll join us in person or online Sunday at 8:45 and 10:30 am.

Peace,

Northeast Multi-Service Center Update
Thank you, Old Mission, for your monetary donations to the NE Multi-Service Center located in Mission, KS. During 2022, you donated $5,700 .This is another way that you are making a difference in the lives of people in northeast Johnson County. The NE Multi-Service Center is part of the Johnson County Human Services and provides assistance to families living in northeast Johnson County. The money donated by you is used to purchase food for their food pantry as well as provide rent and utility assistance. Due to our current economic situation, the number of families that need assistance in all of these areas has increased dramatically.

If you would like to make a donation to this worthy cause, you may do so online or by check. Please note that you want your donation to go to “Food Pantry”.

Roeland Park Food Pantry Thanks You!

A couple weeks ago twenty $10 Aldi gift cards were delivered to Kristin who organizes the pantry donations. She asked that I pass on her gratitude for all your donations of food and gift cards.

Old Mission’s food collection for the Roeland Park Food Pantry continues. Recently they have been giving out 150 grocery bags of food on the 1st and 3rd (and 5th if there is one) Fridays of the month, and each family is given a $10 Aldi gift card. Please consider donating chunky soup, pasta and sauce, cereal, canned chicken and tuna, canned vegetables, and jelly or honey. Shampoo and body wash are always appreciated. You can also choose to give $10 Aldi gift cards so families can purchase milk, bread and other needed items.

Please bring gift cards to the church office and place nonperishables on the cart inside the front door near the office.
