Draft Neighborhood Plans Available Online

Guided by the Hartford City Plan 2035, the City's neighborhood planning process aims to engage residents and community stakeholders in the development of community-driven strategic plans. This process provides technical assistance to NRZs and also helps build consensus around long-term visions for Hartford neighborhoods.

In the first year of a multi-year process, the City and its project teams have been working to develop plans for the Northeast, Upper Albany, Frog Hollow, and Southwest & Behind the Rocks neighborhoods, and these draft plans are now available online: For questions or comments, email owen.deutsch@hartford.gov.

Department of Public Works

Bartholomew Avenue Streetscape in Parkville.
After a multi-year public engagement, design, and construction process, Bartholomew Avenue streetscape reached substantial completion just before the new year. Boasting new and refreshed sidewalks, crosswalks, streets, lighting, an archway, and more, Bartholomew Avenue enhances and adds to the distinctly historic, yet innovative character of the neighborhood.

You may see the team wrap up a few last finishing touches, but stop on by to check out the newly revamped space, which is a precursor for more Parkville action to come.

P.S. DPW is also on social media; check out their Facebook @HartfordDPW.

Safe Streets Partner Updates
Superpedestrian on Hartford Scootershare
It's been almost two years since the bright yellow Superpedestrian (LINK) scooters arrived on Hartford streets, and in that time Hartford residents and visitors have taken nearly 350,000 trips. With such huge ridership, the city and Superpedestrian are working together to make sure riders know exactly where to park their scooters, while also making them easier to find for the next rider. Together, we've installed about a dozen scooter parking corrals across the city. Riders can find these corrals in the app, and in the near future will be rewarded with wallet credits for parking in these corrals.

Superpedestrian is excited for the 2023 season, and we hope to be able to expand access for riders in the coming months. We're so thankful to everyone in Hartford for all the support over these past two years!
