“Committed to ending modern-day slavery and sexual exploitation by raising awareness through the media and grassroots mobilization, education, advocacy and policy.”
WARNING: This newsletter may be disturbing because it’s true.
Dear Warrior:
Reality. It’s 2023. The predators are winning. We must face facts and truths. Why are they winning? What can we do about it in our own homes and communities? There is so much more awareness and focus in 2023 than past years. Many groups, organizations, non-profits and individuals are collectively working towards one goal. Ending human slavery and the sexual exploitation of our children. We must remain and becomeWarriors.
Let’s Learn More
Every year since 2010, January has been proclaimed asNational Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. We take time each January to share information, resources and take actions to educate ourselves and the public. We learn more about human trafficking and what action steps can be taken to prevent human trafficking. We aim to make an impact. Together.
The face of human trafficking has changed drastically. It evolves almost on a daily basis. However, one thing remains. It escalates every day. Think of it as a big wheel with many spokes. The wheel turns non-stop. It is moving so fast and it is so hard to keep up with. I refer to trafficking as “slavery.” It is a much more accurate word to describe this human rights abuse and crime.
We have the Internet. We have a government and, if I didn’t know better, sanctioned drug and human trafficking business on our United States southern border. We see no end in sight. We have today’s education system. Instead of prioritizing reading, writing and arithmetic, our kids are being introduced to ideologies that have nothing to do with learning. We have “entertainment” glorifying the “sex worker.” We have marketers that look at children as currency. We have a society hell-bent on normalizing the sexualization of our children. Why? Making money and more money and much more money.Sadly, that is the bottom line. Profit over the human dignity of our precious children.
DATA DATA DATA
Every child deserves to feel and be safe, happy and enjoy life. How can anyone disagree with this? Why is it so hard today to protect our children? We have the data. We share the data. Our government knows all of this. Big Tech is aware. Corporate media has the information. So what is the problem? It seems that they are allowing these criminal enterprises to flourish and grow every minute?
Real-time Youth Facts. In the United States, an estimated 460,000 + children are reported missing every year. However, this figure has not been updated in recent years. Therefore, we know that the number must be higher. Whether sex trafficking, family abductions, runaways, our youth are endangered.
United States Border Facts as of January 12, 2023.Monthly encounters with migrant children at U.S.-Mexico border remain near record highs. We have no true transparency with how many unaccompanied children are being brought over the border by the criminal cartels. No matter what you think about all of this, these children are in danger during their trips and when they arrive here in the U.S. Where are all the children going? What is happening to them? We do know that exploitation on our border is alive and thriving. Who’s protecting these vulnerable kids?
We have no choice but to continue with what we are doing. We must protect kids 24/7/365 from the criminals. We must form stronger working relationships and coalitions. We must share knowledge and our individual expertise. Spread it far and wide. There is power in numbers
Engage. Educate. Empower ourselves and our children.
So What Are We to Do? Community Creates Change
Take Action. Form stronger coalitions. Actively seek out individuals and organizations, such as the Warriors, working to intervene and end human slavery and the exploitation of our youth. Use the National Human Trafficking Hotline Directory. Research local organizations.
Take Action. It’s January. New Year. New Thinking.Communicate with your kids. It is our duty to protect our children online and in real-time against the enemy, the predators. It starts with talking with and to your children, age-appropriate and being honest. There are bad people online and in real-life. Let them know that they can always tell you right away about anyone if approached online or in person by a stranger or if someone is making them uncomfortable. Empower kids to come forth and assure them that there will be no judgment.

Media Microscope. January 10. Newsweek. Opinion by Michael Shively and Stephany PowellThe Undeniable Failure of Permissive Approaches to ProstitutionThe movement to legalize prostitution, or "sex work," gained traction last year and is likely to continue in 2023. Proponents of eliminating laws against prostitution argue that doing so promotes the health and safety of all involved, reduces abuses against those in the trade by destigmatizing it and removing barriers to reporting assaults to police, and frees up scarce police resources to focus on the more serious problem of sex trafficking.
It all sounds good, even sensible, when well presented. But none of it is true. How do we know? Because legalization has been tried many times, in many places, in many forms, over many decades, and failed every time.

Have a Family Safety Emergency Plan in Place. “Children who become separated from their loved ones during and following a disaster are at an increased risk of trauma. Coping with anxiety and stress are much more difficult in the absence of those who know the child’s individual needs. Children separated from their parents or legal guardians are more vulnerable to maltreatment, abuse, abduction, and sexual exploitation.” –NCMEC
