“We seldom notice how each day is a holy place
Where the eucharist of the ordinary happens,
Transforming our broken fragments
Into an eternal continuity that keeps us.”

It is interesting to notice what I am wanting to keep, as I rummage through 20 years of living in one house, and 10 years in one office. Most of what I want to hold on to represents a time or a people who have imprinted my life. Everything seems holy and valuable and frightfully difficult to let go of. But as I prepare for a new and different place to live, I am also preparing for a new WAY of living. Letting go is essential to make room for what will be. And, I am realizing, I carry within my very being all that has been.

As I prepare for our celebration on Sunday, I have been wanting to share one simple word that can reflect our journey together and can also empower us for the futures we are facing. I've actually come up with two.

We will sing a lot, of course. We will bless each other, of course. And we will be surrounded by that great Love that keeps us connected....always.

Thank you dear friends, for the honor and privilege of journeying with you.

Peace,
Pastor Sharon

In gratitude for our journey with Sharon and in order to assist with her transition away from 1st Corvallis and to Iona, Session has authorized a "Mission Sending Gift" to be offered upon completion of her ministry with us.
