Naatu Naatu Wins Big At The Golden Globes

UMANG SHARMA

Naatu Naatu makes history as the first Asian song to win a Golden Globe!

Dear Reader,

What a lovely way to kick start the year with a bunch of festivals celebrating tradition, the harvest, and new beginnings! Many of you observed the fun and festivities of Lohri, Pongal and Makar Sankranti with family and friends. And yet, this time of year marks a moment of reflection - a day to commemorate civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., who was himself inspired by Gandhian principles of peaceful resistance which eventually created space for new American immigrants like us. We've come full circle.

India is making waves in this week's newsletter - from a trip seeking stillness by the Ganga in Varanasi to the RRR hit
Naatu Naatu scooping up Best Original Song at the Golden Globes - check out that hook step!

All of these stories came from our best source - our readers! So if you have a story idea, pitch me at editor@indiacurrents.com
