The URA the HUD Way Training provides basic information and resources on the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, as amended (URA) and other requirements, such as section 104(d), for HUD funded projects. Before starting the training modules, there are three quick informational videos starring Bill, Sally, Daniel, and Julia to get you familiar with these topics.
- URA Overview: Bill and Sally work for the Metro Community Planning Agency. Sally has a project that is subject to a federal law called the URA but she’s not familiar with it. Come join Sally as Bill shares some URA basics with her.
- Section 104(d) Overview: Remember Sally and her project that was subject to the URA? Project plans changed and now another federal law, section 104(d), also applies. Thanks to Bill, Sally is now familiar with the URA, but she has no idea what section 104(d) is. Come join Sally as she visits Bill again, hoping he can share some section 104(d) basics too.
- CDBG-DR Overview: After a recent hurricane, Daniel is appointed the state’s Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program coordinator. Daniel is familiar with the CDBG program but needs to quickly learn about CDBG-DR while navigating federal laws and regulations like the URA, section 104(d), and other program requirements to help his community recover from the disaster. His friend Julia has experience rebuilding communities with CDBG-DR after disasters and offers to help. Join Daniel as Julia provides him with a basic overview of HUD’s CDBG-DR program, the URA, section 104(d), and related CDBG program requirements. Julia also has a magic binder – check it out.
