Church Family Celebrations:
Our longtime organ tuner, Lanny Hochhalter, is retiring this year. We thank him for decades of skilled service. He and our new organ tuner, Richard Uskovits, will visit our Sanctuary together to tune our organ before the Easter service.
A note from the Lanny & Judy Hochhalter:
"After 42 years of full-time pipe organ work, now it is time to retire and let the next generation take over. We've maintained your pipe organ for about 41 of those years!
It is overwhelming to think of our many clients through the years that entrusted us with their very valuable instruments. Along the way there have been many who helped us get started and sustain our business, we will not forget!
I am pleased to announce that, starting in March, Richard Uskovits has agreed to be our replacement. We think you will find him very qualified! Taking over the service of our 60+ regular clients will require a bit of a learning curve as many instruments have secret hatches, hidden ladders and fussy reed pipes. We will share with him your instrument's service history, quirks, and future maintenance needs. We will accompany him for the pre-Easter tunings. We will do our best to help him get acquainted with your instrument.
It has been a great pleasure to have served First Presbyterian all these years!"

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance
“God is our refuge and strength … though the mountains shake.” - Psalm 46:1-3
The scale of the disaster facing Syria and Turkey after the Feb. 6 earthquake is becoming clearer. The 7.8-magnitude quake and its aftershocks have left more than 11,000 people dead and thousands more injured; these numbers will rise as search and rescue continues. Buildings have been reduced to rubble, and roads and bridges have been severely damaged, resulting in dangerous conditions for first responders. In some places, such as Aleppo, this destruction is compounding the damage of the now 11-year war in Syria.
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is providing emergency relief and short-term recovery in the impacted areas through long-standing partners in Syria, in addition to ACT Alliance members in Syria and Turkey, all of whom are already on the ground. PDA will remain active throughout the entire recovery process, accompanying our partners in the area as they determine long-term program needs and providing financial support for building and resilience.
