Tell us about your family and how you heard about PJ Library!
We are Matthew Lander and Reannah Hocken, and our children are James and Sasha Lander. James is 2 (turning 3 in April), and Sasha is nine months old.
Tell us about your experiences with PJ Library and how this program (books, events and/or initiatives) has impacted your family.
PJ Library has been so much fun! We look forward to our monthly book, and James has such a good time going to the mailbox and finding his own mail there for him. As parents, we really like the holiday guides with craft and game ideas. The impact has been that we talk about Jewish culture during story time, and our children learn about their values and traditions through these books.
What are your child(ren)'s favourite PJ Library books?
Tikun Olam Ted is the favourite right now, but we also love One Fine Shabbat and the art in the Amalia Hoffman books.
What has been your child's/family's favourite PJ Library program or initiative, and why?
We loved walking to find the Dumbo snow sculpture last winter as part of the Winter EleFUNt initiative.
Due to the pandemic and the young ages of our children, we haven’t been able to participate much to date, but we intend to do so more in the future!
What would you say to a friend who has never heard about PJ Library?
I would encourage them to sign up. It’s a really great initiative.
