The next FCA-FAC General Meeting will be held Wednesday February 15 from 7 pm. The meeting will use Google Meet videoconferencing. If you do not regularly receive e-mail instructions on logging-in to General Meetings, please send a message to rsvp@fca-fac.ca indicating that you wish to participate.

2. At the Jan. 25 meeting of the FCA Board, the Board decided that the FCA will appear at the Feb. 27 meeting of the Ottawa Police Services Board as it considers proposals to change how public delegations are dealt with at OPS Board meetings. The FCA Board believes that public delegations should remain part of the OPS Board meeting agenda, and that permission from the OPS Board Chair should not be required in order to speak to the OPS Board. Ottawa Police Services is a public body, funded by public funds, and accountable to the public.

3. The FCA is continuing to meet with City Councillors on the FCA's recommendations regarding guidance for the City's Committee of Adjustment. 4. A public information session on the effect of recent provincial legislation on the City of Ottawa will be held March 7. Further information and a link to register participation are at https://engage.ottawa.ca/provincial-legislation-planning

5. An online consultation on the new Civic Hospital project will be held February 9. This will discuss the central utility plant and the hospital itself. 6. A proposal for revision of the timetable for development of a new Zoning By-Law has been released. In part occasioned by delay in Ministerial approval of the Official Plan, dates have been moved forward about half a year. Details were presented to Planning & Housing Committee at its meeting of January 31 (agenda item 5.5) and will go to Council for approval.

7. The draft 2023 budget for the City of Ottawa has been released. Councillor-led public consultations on the budget are scheduled. Meetings of the various committees and boards are to lead to Council consideration of the budget on March 1.
