From the Parish Office
Greetings. Following the meeting of Standing Committee this last week a variety of our Covid measures have now been or are about to be relinquished. Whilst the hand sanitisers at the church’s entry points will remain for the time being, those on the altar for use by the celebrant have been removed. The printed cards reserving adjacent seats to enable greater physical distancing have also gone. (I am not sure I ever saw these used!) Benches have returned to the sanctuary for the sacred ministers and other clergy, including the one in memory of Fr Gilling. And from Ash Wednesday the peace in the sanctuary will be exchanged in the traditional way. Also a row of chairs was removed from the body of the church a couple of years ago to allow for greater spacing: that part of the row in Seven Sorrows has now been reinstated, while for the moment those chairs for the part of that row in the nave will remain in storage. The PCC meeting later this month will no doubt continue to keep an eye…
With all good wishes,
Fr Andrew Walker
Parish Priest
