South County Outreach has a growing need for soup to help feed the many people in Orange County including families and the elderly.

Please bring in canned or packaged soup throughout February and March to the Narthex (on your way to service) or the church office during the week.

Do you like coffee, donuts, and people?

FIELD TRIPS

Each class takes field trips to various places of educational value and interest. While these trips are not required, they do enhance the school curriculum, and all children are encouraged to participate. Students not attending field trips are required to be at school and will be given appropriate assignments for the day.  There will be a charge for some trips. Parents are notified of the date and place of the trip and must provide a signed permission slip for their child to participate. Seat belts and car seats must be used as required by law.

Transportation on these trips is usually by bus or automobile. Parents who drive will be asked for proof of a current California driver’s license, current car registration, and current legal minimum automobile liability insurance. They must be at least 21 years of age.

Extended field trips of up to five days are a regular part of the upper-grade school curriculum, and all eligible students are strongly encouraged to attend.

-4th graders attend a study of California geography and history
-5th graders participate in Revolutionary War reenactment at Riley’s Farm
-6th graders attend Outdoor Science Camp
-7th  graders study at an oceanography camp
-8th graders visit the Washington D.C. area

The costs for these trips are the responsibility of the parents. Special fundraising activities are designed to help families finance these trips.
