February 5, 2023

Good morning,

Last week we celebrated so many things. In a week of celebrating our Patron, St. John Bosco, we also celebrated over 300 students receiving Academic Honors and two Championships - Our Basketball team won the Trinity League and now moves on to the CIF playoffs and our Wrestling team won the CIF Southern Section Division 1 Dual Team Championship! We are blessed to continually see our Braves thriving in all walks of their lives.

It is in this development of the Bosco man that we celebrate two more opportunities for our Braves. Please keep our Seniors participating in Kairos #56 in your prayers as they leave Tuesday for the retreat. The Kairos retreat is the culminating retreat experience for Bosco students and we are thankful we have this program. In addition, the Freshmen class will be participating in formation at their Freshmen Retreat on Friday. It will be a great day of spiritual development and bonding as Bosco Brothers.

This week of celebration we also had the opportunity to celebrate the Feast of St. John Bosco with Bishop Marc Trudeau. At the conclusion of this celebration Bishop Trudeau granted the students, faculty and staff a day off in commemoration of this Feast. We will be taking this day on Monday, February 13, 2023. Therefore, there will be no classes and the main office will be closed during normal school hours.

As you have seen in the last few weekly emails, we are in the process of developing a Strategic Plan for the future of the school. An important piece of this is a community survey. Please consider responding to the information here:

St. John Bosco is beginning our Strategic Planning process and we need your help. We would greatly appreciate your time completing our Community Engagement Survey. The purpose of this survey is to better understand what the St. John Bosco community would like the school to prioritize in its upcoming strategic plan. The survey will ask you a variety of questions about the school currently, as well as your hopes and aspirations for the future of the school. It should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Results from this survey will be used to identify focus areas, and articulate a plan for bringing the community’s collective vision to life. Your response to this survey will be kept anonymous.

We greatly appreciate your feedback!

I hope you all have a blessed Sunday. Below you will find what is in store for the week ahead.

Best,

Kristopher L. Anderson, Ed.D., Class of '04

Principal
