International Women's Day 2023

Local women in song and story... a music project on Wurrundjeri Country by Cath Rutten with local musicians.

In an 'afternoon tea' style event, you're invited to Wadambuk St Andrews Community Centre to enjoy original music with stories based around the lives of women who contributed to the township and the community of St Andrews in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

While this project stories the lives of colonial women, it acknowledges the trauma and displacement of First Nations people through the invasion and colonisation of their country. Sovereignty was never ceded.

Sunday 5th March 5pm - 6pm
Wadambuk St Andrews Community Centre
35 Caledonia Street, St Andrews

Wash My Soul In The Rivers Flow

A cinematic reinvention of a legendary concert by First Nations singer-songwriters Archie Roachand Ruby Hunter working with Paul Grabowsky and the 22-piece Australian Art Orchestra.
Using footage combining conversation, rehearsals, and the opening night, with breathtaking images of Hunter's Ngarrindjeri country in South Australia, the film is a portrait of artists at the peak of their power and a profoundly moving story of loss, love and what it means to truly come 'home'.
